Returning you to sports and activities with confidence.

Following an injury, the role of Athletic Trainer's extend to rehabilitation and recovery. The AT’s at IAT have invested years into learning the physical demands and the unique skills required to help you perform at your potential. We utilize our experience of working with professional and collegiate athletes to develop tailored rehabilitation programs, guide you through exercises and therapies to regain strength, flexibility, mobility, endurance, and function. This personalized approach ensures a more efficient and effective recovery, helping athletes return to competition in optimal condition. We care for injured athletes and the physically active who suffer from injuries ranging from ankle sprains and muscle strains to concussions and post-operative care.

Injury Evaluation

Much like our fitness/performance assessments, our Athletic Trainers evaluate acute and chronic injuries through an orthopedic assessment process. We take a detailed and comprehensive health history, perform necessary orthopedic special tests, record strength metrics and ranges of motion, provide a postural and gait analysis, and narrow down a clinical differential diagnosis. We utilize the latest in proven performance information collection methods and technology to provide quantifiable metrics, allowing us to evaluate progress and track the effectiveness of rehab interventions. VALD Performance Technology is the same sports performance tech used by the PROs for both performance and rehabilitation. Check out VALD.

The Clinicians at IAT build out physical medicine and rehabilitation programs based on current needs, injury type, age of injury, current phase of healing, and current ability in order to reach your goals. Our number one goal is to return you back to sports and activity as quickly and safely as possible. We work 1-on-1 with each of our patients to ensure they get the most out of each session by: managing pain and swelling, restoring motion, increasing strength, endurance, power, balance, agility, and change of direction. Each of our patients undergoes a return to play/activity program designed to test sport and task-specific activities for movement competency and ability to endure the demands of their activity or sport. We are the experts in return to play testing and decision making to ensure a safe return.

We also communicate effectively with physicians, school or club athletic trainers, PTs, strength coaches, and team coaches to make sure there is continuity of care and mutual understanding for phase of rehabilitation and return. Check out the Injuries and Conditions we treat...

Concussion Management

The Clinicians at IAT are experts in sports and activity related concussion evaluation, management, and rehabilitation. A Sports Concussion can occur from a direct blow to the head from an object or opposing player, but it can also occur from non-contact scenarios including a fall or any quick motion of the head or neck that causes the brain to move around inside the skull.  Most sports concussions don’t involve a loss or consciousness or a blow to the head, and many times, are overlooked by coaches and parents as they can be focused on the play. For most athletes, symptoms will resolve within two to four weeks, however for some, symptoms can persist for several months.

We utilize the most up to date clinical research and technology to manage and treat sports related concussions here at IAT.

We also communicate effectively with physicians, school or club athletic trainers, PTs, strength coaches, and team coaches to make sure there is continuity of care and mutual understanding for phase of rehabilitation, return to learn and return to play. Check out symptoms of sports related concussion...
